The Clipper extension
For Chrome on a computer · free · no account · early version
It works two ways, depending on the store.
On most Shopify stores, when you have something in your cart, a small Clipper button shows up. Tap it and it tries each code we have for that store, in your own cart, one at a time. It keeps the one that takes the most off and shows you the before and after. If the code you already had is better, it stays. If none of ours work, your cart goes back exactly as it was.
On every other store Clipper covers, when the checkout shows a coupon box, the Clipper panel lists our codes. Tap one and it goes in the box; you press the store's own Apply button and tell us whether it took money off. It never clicks anything for you.
What it works on
Only stores Clipper covers. Everywhere else it does nothing at all.
What it does, and doesn't
- It changes one thing: the discount code on your cart or in the coupon box, and only when you tap.
- It never buys anything, never enters payment details, and never goes to checkout for you.
- It never changes the links you click or swaps anyone's referral for ours. It doesn't touch affiliate links at all.
- It doesn't send us your browsing. It downloads Clipper's list of stores once a day and checks each site on your own computer. It only talks to Clipper on stores from that list.
What it shares
After a run it tells Clipper which codes worked at that store, what they took off, and the cart total, so the codes here stay honest. Nothing about you, your items, or your account goes with it. These count as visitor reports, not proof: a code only earns a receipt here when it passes a checkout we can stand behind. You can switch sharing off in the extension's menu.
Install it
It isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet. Until it is, on a computer:
- Download the extension and unzip it.
- Open chrome://extensions and switch on Developer mode (top right).
- Click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder.
Phones: Chrome on Android and iPhone doesn't run extensions. On a phone, put clipper.deals/ in front of any product link instead, and the store page checks the codes live.
